First Class Post - Alyssia Deutsch

My background is applicable to intelligent buildings has included a lot of program usage. I have used SketchUp, AutoCAD, SAP2000, HILTI Anchor software, BlueBeam and many Microsoft programs. However I do not have any experience with BIM or Revit as of yet. Most programs I have utilized are structural based or are in relation to glazing design.

Some of my expectations for this class include learning a significant amount of Revit, improving my skills in other programs and obtaining more knowledge on newer methods of technology on and off the field of construction.

While searching through Evernote I found an amazing article about a new method developed by MIT that uses a robot to 3D print the entire basic structure of a building! This will allow for faster and cheaper construction in the future and it seems like an amazing feat of engineering and technology.

My initial definition of what intelligent building methods might comprise is any way in which humans can maximize construction methods to be as reliable, efficient and cost effective through the use of new robotics, AI, multiple programs and other relatable resources.
