Group B: Cost Implications of AI and Robots
The group agreed that cost is one of the driving factors in the advancement of AI. Initial costs are going to be high for implementing AI robots into different fields like construction and fully automated assembly lines but once everything has been bought and introduced, costs will be reduced greatly since human workers will not have to be paid. For example, the hotel building built in 15 days could potential be built all by AI because of its modular design. AI automation could also pose problems to entire industries. Larger companies that can afford the AI robots will be able to work more efficiently than small companies that cannot and will eventually cause these smaller companies to be bought out/go out of business.
