Intelligent Building - Sarina Tufano Week 2

Defined as: "The first definition, coined by the Intelligent Buildings Institute, defines an intelligent building as “one which provides a productive and cost-effective environment through optimization of four basic elements: structure, systems, services and management, and the interrelationship between them.”"

This definition is what I think of when I hear the phrase Intelligent Buildings. My definition would also add that Intelligent Buildings are environmentally friendly.  I think that for a building to encompass intelligent aspects, being green and smart with the environment should be very important to the definition.
